If you can tear yourself away from the holiday park then there's so much to do in Cornwall – walking, cycling, surfing, kite surfing, horse riding, fishing, golf – you name it and you'll almost certainly find it somewhere nearby.

The lively Newquay harbour is a working fishing port where you can buy fresh fish to BBQ in the evening or just watch the daily hustle and bustle.

Beyond the shelter of the harbour Newquay is every surfers dream. Lessons are a must when you're in the surf capital of the UK and have such a large number of magnificent beaches on your doorstep.

Cornwall has a fascinating mix of attractions too to keep everyone interested. There are great historical sites such as Tintagel Castle and industrial heritage locations such as the Geevor tin mine. You can experience the cultural uplift of the Tate St Ives or explore the National Maritime Museum or the Charlestown Shipwreck Centre. If it's nature you want why not try the National Seal or Screech Owl sanctuaries. Don't forget the stunning world-famous Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The beaches are nothing short of breath-taking with golden stretches of soft sand, rock pools teeming with marine life, to crystal-clear sea waters for leisurely swimming. Or for that extra special twist to your holiday, why not fly from Newquay airport to the popular Isles of Scilly for a day trip. There truly is something for everyone, whatever the weather or season.

Finally there's the all important food and drink. Of course celebrity chefs Rick Stein at Padstow and Jamie Oliver with Fifteen at Watergate Bay both have top-class restaurants in the area. But there are many other quality restaurants around catering for all tastes as well as lots of lively gastro-pubs. If you fancy nothing more than a quiet night in then fish and chips from the Summer Lodge take-away will equally hit the spot.

The following are just a few of the local attractions and theme parks within travelling distance. Details for many of these attractions can be found on your arrival in the welcome pack or are available from the holiday park reception.
